Blood donation drive: The blood donation program commenced with the participation of around 20 staff nurses. The event was initiated by Dr. Balasubramanian & Dr. Arulkumaran, CKD Awareness Pamphlet distribution: Conducted by nursing department, this program was aimed to educate the public on the importance of CKD Awareness. Pamphlets were distributed by the nursing department to raise the awareness on CKD and pupped show done by nursing students.
Welcome and cultural contributions: Welcome speech delivered by S/N Kirubavathi.

Nurses day celebration begun with prayer song followed by welcome speech by Staff Nurse Kirubavathi and lighting of kuthuvillakku by Dignitaries.
Unveiling photo of Florence nightingale was done by Acting Nursing superintendent in honor of the founder of modern nursing. Candle lighting ceremony was done by all staff nurses to symbolize the dedication, compassion and unity of nursing staff. Nurses pledge was recited by DNS. Velankanni to reaffirm this commitment to the value and principle of nursing profession, followed by a classical dance by nursing students Miss. Leona, Miss. Devapriya. Special speech given by Deputy Dean (Academic) Dr. Soundariya. Introduction of Theme by DNS Mohana “Our Nurses Our Future caring for Nurses strengthens Economies” and started our cultural programme Karagam, Drama, Miming, Advertisement Price distribution for winners. Nurses day celebration organized by Acting Nursing Superintendent Mrs. Rajalakshmi.
Conclusion:
The World Nurses Day celebration 2025, held on May 21, 2025, was a resounding success honoring the contributions of the nursing profession. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Sudha DNS, who expressed gratitude to all participants, speakers, and organizers for their contributions. The Programme ends with Naional Anthem.

Behind the scenes they run many errands and perform many tasks having to do with your treatment. They have also an open ear for your wishes and problems at any time. Please do not hesitate to talk to the nurses on the wards about your feelings and needs. Nursing Service is the heart of the institution, which supports and provides comprehensive patient care at the primary, secondary, and tertiary care level within our institution.
At Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, the nurses are trained to not only execute the directions of a doctor; but also use theory and research based knowledge to provide direct and indirect care to the individuals and families. Patient education is another key factor of our patient care component. Patient education is important to enable individuals to better care for themselves and make informed decisions regarding medical care.
There is a comprehensive nursing concept which is oriented towards the patient’s needs and the furthering of the healing process. Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College provides three-year training in nursing care and thus completes the spectrum of measures for continual quality improvement.

The Pongal Celebration 2025, organized by the IQAC and Nursing Department of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, was held on January 11, 2025, from 10:30 AM onwards. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, nursing staff, and first-year MBBS students.
The celebration commenced with colorful rangoli and flower decorations, creating a vibrant and festive ambiance. The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by prayers offered to mark the occasion. The traditional ritual of lighting the fire for preparing Pongal was performed, symbolizing gratitude for a bountiful harvest.
